Archer’s Driving School is pleased to announce they will be offering their students the opportunity to complete the classroom requirement for the Full Course Insurance Reduction Certificate training through on-line service providers including Fleet Safety International (FSI) and the Alberta Motor Association (AMA), and their online curriculum offering. Additional fees for online classroom option, payable to Archer’s for FSI online, or payable directly to AMA for the AMA online.
Full Details of the Listed Services are below:
- Full Course for Insurance Reduction Certificate* FC IRC includes:
-15 hours of classroom instruction
-administration of written test
-10 hours of in-car instruction (5 lessons x 2 hours each)
*NB: Please note that minimum provincial achievement standards in the course must be met to earn the Insurance Reduction Certificate
License Class: For holders of subsisting Class 7 GDL Learner’s License, or subsisting Class 5 GDL Probationary License. In-car lessons cannot begin until student has current, valid Class 7 License. Classroom lessons could begin prior to receiving Class 7 license.
- Short Course for Insurance Reduction Certificate* includes:
-15 hours of classroom instruction
-administration of written test
-6 hours of in-car instruction (3 lessons x 2 hours each)
*NB: Please note that minimum provincial achievement standards must be met to earn the Insurance Reduction Certificate.
License Class: ONLY for holders of existing Class 5 non-GDL that require the Insurance Reduction Certificate.
- Prep Course for Class 7 Knowledge Exam includes:
-5 hours of classroom instruction, focusing on:
-basic overview of rules of the road and defensive driving
-knowledge of traffic signs and signals
-test-taking skills
License Class: For non-licensed students wishing to write the Class 7 Knowledge Exam at an Alberta Registry. Minimum 13 years-9 months of age recommended to take the Prep Course. Please note that a minimum age of 14 years is required to write the Class 7 Knowledge Exam at an Alberta Registry.
- Individual Brush-Up Driving Lesson(s) includes:
-minimum 2-Hour lesson(s) booked by student
-package pricing available for multiple lessons
-assists in preparing for Class 5 Novice Road Test, Class 5 Advanced Road test, or refresher for any other reason
License Class: For holders of subsisting Class 7 GDL Learner’s License, subsisting Class 5 GDL Probationary License, or Class 5 non-GDL.
- Parent-Coach Brush-Up Driving Lesson(s) includes:
-minimum 2-Hour lesson, unless immediately prior/after son/daughter’s lesson then 1-Hour minimum
-assists in refreshing with current rules of the road, and helps provide skill-development and communication strategy to use with family-learner driver.
-practical whether or not family-learner is registered in a professional driver training program
-discount on hourly rate if family-learner is registered with Archer’s Blue Car Driving School Ltd.
License Class: For holders of subsisting Class 5 non-GDL only. - Please inquire about renting the Training Car for your Road Test if you are using one of the North Side Registries
